Job Description:
Summary The Plumbing Technician is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting Plumbing fixtures, equipment, water heaters, drain systems and related problems. He/she must present options, service agreements, and pricing to customers in a clear, polite, and respectful manner. The Plumbing Technician must complete approved repairs/improvements in a timely manner, leave a clean and orderly work area, collect payment, fill out paperwork properly, and make our customers delighted so they will always call us for their Plumbing needs. Responsibilities • Complete plumbing, drain cleaning and other related in-home, service calls. • Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services. • Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans. • Understand service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals. • Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business. • Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business. • Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck. • Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings and retreats. • Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations. • Be accurate and timely with invoices, timecards, curbside feedback and option sheets. • Clean equipment and work area, ensure complete customer satisfaction upon completion of work • Complete all paperwork required by management • Keep assigned service vehicle organized, clean, and stocked properly • Contact the office following the completion of each call, providing requested information regarding the work completed, and receiving dispatch instructions for the next call • Perform other duties as assigned Requirements • H.I.S. Licensed with knowledge of local plumbing codes and ability to make on-the-job applications. • Develop proven track record in soldering, pipe threading, fixture installation, gas leak testing and repair. • Continued education and training. • Clean, safe driving record. • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities. • Strong verbal and written communications. • High integrity with advanced social skills and ability to make solid connections. • Strong desire to be a better technician tomorrow than you are today. • Competitive individual contributor who also loves to win as a team. Physical Demands To adequately perform the duties of this job the employee is regularly and routinely required to sit; stand, walk, stoop, crawl, use hands to finger, handle controls; hear, and talk. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment noise level is usually moderate but will vary occasionally. The work environment will subject employees to continual interruptions and changing priorities. Effective, consistent, and constant communication with customers, vendors, co-workers, and others is required.
