Job Description:
Position is for a Commercial/Industrial plumber/Pipefitter: assemble, install and repair plumbing equipment, products and related systems. Work to be done on commercial/Industrial sites. Project types include ground-up construction, tenant improvement, retrofit, schools, hospitals, multi-story buildings, colleges, demo and remodel. Our Chino office is the base location. HVAC Installer will travel locally, as well as to Los Angeles, San Diego and surrounding cities... Typical Duties: • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines and pipe-bending machines. • Studying building plans and inspecting structures to assess material and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installation around obstructions. • Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels. • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks. • Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, solvents, caulking, or soldering brazing and welding equipment. • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances etc, using hand and power tools. • Direct working engaged in pipe cutting and preassembly and installation of plumbing systems and components. • Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools. • Review blueprint and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures. • Install underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to systems. • Install HVAC/Heating related materials, equipment and products. Qualifications and Skills • 2+ years’ experience as a HVAC Installer/Sheet metal worker in the mechanical contracting industry. • Must have a clean driving record. • Must be willing to submit to drug testing. • Self-motivated to achieve team goals with ability to lead installation crew. • Must have the ability to identify basic trade materials by size, shape and function and safely use small power tools and hand tools. • Must be able to diagnose installation problems to ensure products perform at specifications • Must have all hand tools needed to complete projects in a timely manner. • Ability to Communicate with customer, setting expectations, complaints and provide solutions that are beneficial for both the customer and the company • Ability to work irregular and extended work hours to include weekends.
